A teaser from the amazing people behind Page Curl Publishing.
Yes, it takes a village to write a book. I wrote a short story. It’s only 10,000 words but the work that went into getting it to publication, just like with the work that goes into any other book, took a village. It is a distinct dichotomy of writing a book–that as much as the writing process itself is a solitary endeavor, the process of publishing it takes a team. With any team, it is important to surround yourself with the right people–each complementing the weaknesses and strengths of each member. More importantly, this relationship which becomes one of the most intimate relationships a writer can cultivate must be based on trust and respect.
My short story is part of an anthology with twenty-three other authors, backed by PageCurl Publishing with their marketing, editorial and design team. Without the community and hard work of PageCurl this book would not be possible. They’re the ones that worked the hardest. I really think my job was the easiest. After all, I was able to do my work in peace, and once done, I handed it over to them, which left them to do 99% what is needed to get the book into reader’s hands. With this support behind me, I can concentrate on the thing I really love doing which is writing.
